Melisa Pollak is a Research Fellow in the Science, Technology and Public Policy program at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She holds a M.S. in Science Technology and Environmental Policy and a B.S. in Geophysics, both from the University of Minnesota. Her research focuses on policy to support low-carbon energy systems. Recent work analyses policy options to facilitate deployment of carbon capture and sequestration and examines state responses to climate change. She is involved in a number of projects that explore policy implications of subsurface resource use. Prior to joining the University she worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and for Barr Engineering Company in Bloomington MN.
